How the club started
It was a balmy summer's day.
Somewhere out in the Surrey countryside, Sebastian, the Pelicans future captain, and Ben, the future Club Secretary, settled down to watch a cricket match in a delightful village they were passing through while on a cycle ride.
They began reminiscing about their cricketing experiences, against the backdrop of cheers and expletives from the ongoing match.
It became quickly apparent that the highs and lows unique to being a part of an average cricket team had been missing for them both.
When Sebastian proposed the idea of establishing a team themselves, Ben did not need much convincing.
And so it was -- the Pelicans CC was formed.

Pelicans CC -- what, why, how?
There really isn't much to this one, except that the pellies wanted to coin a mean-sounding team name.
A name that would intimidate our opposition and conjure images of flying success on the field.
We haven't managed to do much of that yet... but watch this space.
